I do believe in love, for I feel it in my Heart I do believe in faith, even though it's torn apart I do believe in friendship, and in the trust that follows I do believe in love, that brings me all my sorrows I do believe in roses, rising from the earth I do believe in change, in the existence of rebirth I do believe in love, it keeps me up at night I do believe in quests, in the searching for a light I do believe in dreams, that's why I go to bed I do believe in love, in all the tears I shed I do believe in fire, and in water just as well I do believe in Heaven, but feel at homein Hell I do believe in love, that it decides my fate I do believe in kindness, and it fills me up with hate I do believe in magic, in things we can't explain I do believe in love, that it will not be in vain I do believe in truth, though concealed in mystery I do believe in you, do you believe in me..?

Chapter of Love - Monologue II

"Tanta stultitia mortalium est.." Humans.. A more arrogant species has never walked on the face of the Earth.. They rarely think, yet think they know... "I know this, I know that.." They are born, they live, they learn.. Knowledge is what they see, when in fact it's sometimes just an illusion of arrogance.. Of course, I could be wrong.. Claiming anything else at this point would just be.. arrogant.. So let's test my theory, shall we..? Then let us begin now... I have a question and a favour to ask of you if I may.. It's quite simple, something you can do with your eyes closed, and without any effort.. Now here the favour.. I'd like for you to imagine yourself picking up a stone, with eyes closed, simple as it is... holding the stone in the palm of your hand for a moment or so.. and then after a while.. letting go of it.. Do this now.. Are you done..? Here's my question.. Tell me please, for I am curious, what happened with the stone..? It fell to the ground, right..? Now here's my thought.. Even though this was all just make-believe I'm quite confident that you agree with me, that you are so sure the fate of the imaginary stone, would turn out exactly the same in reality.. It would fall to the ground.. That's just how it is.. Gravitation has taught us that things simply won't stay floating in the air if there's nothing there to bear it.. Sir Isaac Newton learned that the hard way, or so the legend says.. However... now I will Tell you something that you probably won't expect... About this stone of yours.. If you will do exactly the same thing one more time, what will happen..? Take a moment and think about it.. I'm gonna play the odds a little bit, and claim that you stick by the first theory... It falls to the ground... And ok, I can go along with that.. But only that far before I turn around to you, saying that you are wrong... I say that it won't fall to the ground no more even if you were to try again.. And now I would like for you to prove me wrong.. Naturally, in order for you to do that, I will have to be there by your side, seeing the stone, watching it fall and witnessing its impact on the ground.. So lets use our imagination, both of us, together, shall we..? There you are and so am I, right by each others side.. Now let's get going, ok..? Do exactly the same thing again... Go back up a few lines if you have forgotten.. Pick up the stone.. Wait... Before you go on, I will give you a chance to surrender, if you have not already.. So think about it, within a few lines the stone will fall, and you'll have no choice but to decide for yourself what fate you claim to await it.. The same as the first time, or a different one.. Think... see.. Imagine us standing there together.. You with a stone in your hand, and me with an determined smile.. But enough now, here we go.. Drop the stone.... It's falling, falling, falling down, now you decide.. It's falling, falling, falling down, now you decide.. It's falling, falling, falling down, now you decide.. It's falling, falling, falling no more.... Open your eyes.. Do you know what you see..? Me... with the stone.. in the palm of my hand... How on earth did this happen..? Perhaps you are smarter than I thought and sensed something strange when I asked of you to close your eyes, even in your imagination, and thus questioning my motives.. Perhaps you never saw it coming.. However I did this for two reasons.. The first: You don't need your eyes to know that the stone will fall to the ground.. Logic and reason Told you the outcome even before the stone left your hand.. However, with your eyes closed you couldn't see my hand beneath yours, waiting to save the innocent stone... Even though this is all just a theory, our imagination, you have to admit that the passing would turn out the same in reality.. The second reason: If you close your eyes, they see nothing.. It's just dark.. Therefore you had to imagine watching yourself, standing beside.. The first time you saw yourself dropping a stone that fell to the ground.. The second time you saw the two of us.. and the stone falling to the ground yet again.. That is what you saw, that is the truth you knew until I Told you differently... Until I Told you what most likely would happen if our imaginative situation turned into reality... The lesson is this.. There are very few things that we can know for sure.. What once were, might not always be.. Past experience can never prove the future... Without testing ourselves every now and then we will never fail.. never learn.. and never succeed... When regarding love, the feelings, the words, the truth within us, it's a common thing to hold back, thinking about a loving past filled with betrayal and tears, afraid that it might rise once more and bring us down again.. That is how our mind works.. That is the truth as our eyes see it.. But eyes can be deceiving.. What we see isn't always what's there.. Love is a sad thing in a complicated world.. Not all who are meant to be - find each other.. And some who do - are too afraid to follow their Heart.. Love can be the most beautiful, as well as the cruellest of all fates.. Remember that..
